1776 Survival

Teaching 10-16 year olds survival skills, self-reliance, and back-to-basics ethics, we strive to be the antidote to woke classroom and social media agendas.

Practical Survival Skills, Life-Changing Principles

With the impact of social media, smartphones, woke school agendas, and video gaming causing all sorts of problems ranging from identity crises to just being unready to take on the real world, we've decided to use our background in Homeschooling, Outdoor Education and Wilderness Therapy to give back to our community.  Offering wilderness survival courses teaching not only valuable survival skills, but also principles and values of success that our country was founded on, our goal is to instill self-reliance and critical thinking skills in young people and help forge a new generation of strong, independent and ethical Americans.

1776 Survival

Pro-America Families, Meet Outdoor Education Philosophy

We use survival skills as a vehicle to teach self-efficacy, which is the belief in one's ability to achieve success at any given endeavor.  When one of our students builds a shelter from natural materials using no tools, or navigates a mile across dense woodland with a compass, we want them to say "If I can do that, I can do anything."

Module 1 - Shelter

Theme: Self-Reliance; being strong so that you can help others.

A 4 hour course that will give a comprehensive introduction to building a shelter in the wilderness using no tools and only natural materials on hand. We also cover the survival mindset and how the attitude one takes toward overcoming challenges can affect their capability and success when facing a wilderness survival situation.

Compass Navigation

Module 2 - Navigation

Theme: Knowledge; accomplishing what others can't

The second module in our series of survival skills teaches how to navigate using a compass.  Getting lost is one of the leading causes of survival situations in the wild, and our goal is to arm our students with the knowledge to prevent that situation from occurring, or assist them in making good decisions if they ever do happen to get lost.

Module 3 -Fire

Theme: Resilience; Persistence Through Failure

Starting a fire in the wilderness is one of the most important, and also the most difficult, task that a survivalist faces.  This module focuses on the the bow drill as the most practical method for achieving a fire.  Students will learn how to make their own bow, spindle, fire board, bearing block, and ember catcher, which can be made anywhere using only a knife.

Food & Water

Module 4 - Food

Theme: Craftsmanship; taking pride in the quality of your work as a path to success

In this module we will first focus on one of the most important aspects of survival - staying hydrated.  We'll look at several different ways to achieve clean, drinkable water and how to make good decisions about what water is safe to drink and what isn't.  We will then move on to finding food, discussing and practicing several methods that focus on finding sources of protein and nutrience.
